It was a Holly Jolly “Christmas Carnival’ hosted by Hakuna Matata Club House
‘Hakuna Matata Club House’-Mangaluru hosts ‘Christmas Carnival’ for Kids and their parents to have a gala time and bask in the Christmas fervor.
Mangaluru: “Hakuna Matata” is a Swahili phrase; roughly translated, it means “no worries”. The phrase has been popularized by its use in “The Lion King” movie (in which it is translated as “no worries” in a song named after the phrase), so that it is heard often at resorts, hotels, and other places appealing to the tourist trade. As the name of the club “Hakuna Matata” Club House (HMCH) , translated in English means ‘no worries’ the owner Anjana Kamath wanted to have a place where parents could drop their kids after school hours without any worries and in the process ensure that their kids have a great time and instill a creative streak in them.
Hakuna Matata Club House is basically an initiative where in children are encouraged to mingle with their peer group and thereby enhance their social and creative skills. In today’s technological advanced era where kids activities are limited to playing games on the computer /mobile, Anjana Kamath wanted to provide exposure to kids to various activities like pottery, dance, story sessions, yoga, cooking and in the process mould their personality at the formative years.
As part of the many activities like co-curricular activities and also theme celebrations that are held throughout the year, HMCH organized the “Christmas Carnival” during the weekend, where speaking to Team Mangalorean, Anjana said, ” The basic idea behind this carnival was for everyone to have a gala time and to bask in the Christmas fervor. We wanted to give the talented homemakers a platform to showcase their prowess and get within them a fell good factor and sense of worth”.
With the onset of the festive season, HMCH got ready to celebrate the festival of Christmas with cheer and delight .The festival marks the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and is celebrated on 25th December every year. With beautiful festive decorations in bright colors, the spirit of Christmas was filled in the air all around. During the two-day carnival, hundreds of children joined by their parents and grandparents thronged the Club House, and indulged in fun and frolic, also unleashing their hidden talents and ringing in the joy and spirit of Christmas season.
The children were excited to see the legendary Santa Claus and clicked a few selfies and photo shots with Santa. Soaking in all the fun and frolic children posed for pictures with Santa and also at the Photo Booth specially installed for them with different themes of Christmas Cheer. The Carnival was filled with tons of fun and frolic with various fun games. Mouth licking savouries and a bit of shopping added more colour to the event. It was a glee some carnival with array of exciting events, including face painting, story telling and learning the techniques of pottery. Needless to say, the venue was well decorated with balloons and colorful lights. The Carnival was a delight for everyone across all age groups.
