It’s On for a Good Cause! The Annual Gentleman’s Ride at Forum Fiza Mall, 29 Sept at 4 pm

Mangaluru : All around the world, distinguished gentlefolk, will don their cravats, tussle their ties, press their tweed, and sit astride their classic and vintage styled motorcycles to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and men’s mental health – as the official DGR site mentions! And we are going to be ready in Mangaluru too! We, the bikers of Mangaluru welcome you to be a part of initiative.

On the 29th September, 4 pm, at the Forum Fiza Mall, the United Bikers of Mangalore are coming together for a very special cause… As riders all around the world are going to spiff up their suits and get their classic, retro rides ready, we are going to be a part of the 84,000 + riders around the world, on the 686 rides planned in the various cities, spread around the continents… All in the hope of raising funds towards a noble cause!

Contributions here are going towards the Ave Maria Palliative Care, for patients in their last stages…as well as their 24/7 suicide prevention helpline! The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and the Movember Foundation work together to tackle men’s health issues. This is for gentlemen who have been dealt a tough hand in life, as well their families who have stood by them through thick and thin. Funds are raised for cutting-edge research into prostate cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention programs, as part of our mission to support men’s health globally. In Mangaluru, the various motorcycle clubs, collectively under the United Bikers of Mangalore, come together annually on similar lines and the funds collectively collected, are handed over to Ave Maria Palliative Care at Vamanjur, the only NGO that takes care of the terminally ill, most of whom suffer from various stages of Cancer. And in 2017, Dr. Lavina Noronha, the Director of AMPC, launched the much needed 24-hours Suicide Prevention Helpline – everything with just the help of Donations in various forms. The U.B.M. is therefore ready to go this year too and we hope to help make a difference.
