It’s Raining Drugs in the City! CCB Sleuths Arrest 2 Persons & Seize MDMA worth Rs 75,000
Mangaluru: It is raining Drugs/Ganja in the City! Even after the City police had organized a mammoth Walkathon a few days ago, where 120 colleges with over 6000 students participated to raise awareness on drug consumption and curb drug menace, however, there has been no end to the drug trafficking going on daily. Apart from the police, many social organizations and other institutions too have organized awareness programmes to make Mangaluru Drug Free, but all their efforts are in vain.
In the last two days, there have been arrests of men dealing with drugs, and on Thursday, the Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested two persons and seized 15 grams of MDMA synthetic drug worth Rs 75,000 from them. The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Mustafa, 37, and Shamsuddin,38, both from Manjeshwar of Kerala. The police said on a tip-off, the CCB sleuths raided a place in K.C. Road, off National Highway 66, on Thursday, where the accused were found selling MDMA.
The two were arrested for offences punishable under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Apart from 15 grams of MDMA, the police seized two mobile phones and a digital weighing machine, with a total amount of Rs 95,000
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal IPS, DCP ( Law and Order ) Siddhartha Goyal and DCP (Crime and Traffic) Dinesh Kumar and under the direction of Mangaluru CCB Unit ACP P A Hegde and his team.
