Jagan files nomination from Pulivendula
Amaravati: YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday filed nomination from Pulivendula constituency for next month’s elections to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Accompanied by party leaders, the Leader of Opposition filed his papers before the Returning Officer in Pulivendula town in Kadapa district.
Before submitting his nomination papers, Jagan attended an all-religious prayer meet. Earlier, he addressed a huge rally in the town and urged people to bless him and the party.
Alleging that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was hatching a conspiracy to target YSRCP leaders, Jagan asked people not to get provoked.
Referring to the murder of his uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Jagan said the TDP government was trying to target his family and the party.
Jagan is seeking re-election from Pulivendula, considered the pocket borough of his family. YSR family has been representing this constituency for four decades.
Jagan’s father and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was elected from Pulivendula six times. Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy was elected twice while Jagan’s mother Y.S. Vijayamma was elected once.
