Jana Suraksha Yatra is not to Protect but Divert People’s Mind – Ramanath Rai
Mangaluru: “The elections are nearing and the BJP is holding the Jana Suraksha Yatra to divert the minds of the people. During the Jana Suraksha Yatra, they have printed posters displaying “Siddu Darbar”, with three persons holding swords in their hands and killing a person. Such a display by them is sending a wrong message to the society. Some of the BJP workers are involved in murders and also in inciting communal violence. What is the meaning of “Jana Suraksha Yatra”? The BJP does not have any moral rights to hold the Jana Suraksha Yatra”, said the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai in a press meet held at the DCC office here on March 5.
Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “In the district, we all know who is involved in inciting communal violence. The BJP is trying to take the people into confidence through communal violence, delivering hate speeches and thrashing girls and boys in the name of immoral policing. There have been many planned murders and many innocent youths have been killed. In the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga a BJP leader was involved, Harish Poojary, Prashanth Poojary and Karthik Raj were murdered and the members of the Sangh Parivar were involved in all those murders. So on what basis is the BJP holding the Jana Suraksha Yatra where their own members are involved in murder cases?” Questioned Rai.
Ramanath Rai further said, “The members of the Congress party do not encourage crime. When Harish Poojary, Karthik Raj, Prashanth Poojary were killed the BJP staged protests. The BJP is now talking about Suraksha when one of their leaders had justified the murder of Basheer who was killed in revenge for Deepak’s murder. When there are such leaders in the party who will be safe? All murder cases have been taken seriously and the accused have been arrested. We need harmony and peace in the society.”
District Congress President Harish Kumar, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Sashidhar Hegde, Shalet Pinto, Vishwas Das, Appi, Vinayraj and others were also present.
