Janardhan Poojary Distributes Fruits at Jeppu Ashram on Sonia Gandhi’s Birthday

Mangaluru: To mark the birthday of AICC president Sonia Gandhi fruits were distributed to various Ashrams by the Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary, on December 10.

Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary along MLA J R Lobo, corporators and other leaders visited various Ashrams and distributed fruits to the inmates.

After the distribution of fruits to the inmates of St Joseph Prashanth Nivas Jeppu, speaking to the mediapersons Janardhan Poojary said, “Like Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi also has concern towards the poor. Sonia Gandhi’s birthday was celebrated on December 9. Indira Gandhi loved the people from all walks of life and implemented “Garibi Hatao”, she made it a point to reach out to all sections of the unprivileged groups of rural India. The Twenty Point Programme was launched by Indira Gandhi.”

Janardhan Poojary further said, “I do not know for how long I will live, but today when Sonia Gandhi is celebrating her birthday, I thought of visiting the unprivileged people in various Ashrams. The party workers should follow in the footsteps of Indira Gandhi and work for the poor. Today we have visited St Joseph Prashanth Nivas Jeppu, met the inmates and distributed fruits. We will also visit other Ashrams and distribute fruits to the inmates.”

Janardhan Poojary also visited the St Anthony Ashram Jeppu. Later he prayed at St Antony Chapel. Janardhan Poojary also interacted with the students.

MLA J R Lobo also prayed for Janardhan Poojary and Sonia Gandhi’s good health at St Antony Chapel Jeppu.

Later Janardhan Poojary, MLA J R Lobo and other Congress leaders visited other Ashrams.

MLA J R Lobo, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Corporator Appi, Pratibha Kulai, Sudheer T K, Vishwas Das, Purushotham Chitrapur, Sabitha Misquith, Lancelot Pinto and others were also present.
