Janata Dal is Ruling the State, not Congress – Janardhan Poojary

Mangaluru: “The Janata Dal government is ruling the state and not the Congress. Former CM S M Krishna made a mistake by quitting the party. Being in the party he could have joined hands with me to fight against Siddaramaiah”, said Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the press club Urwa here on January 30.

Addressing the media persons Poojary said, “S M Krishna is a great leader and able politician. Losing such a person is a great loss to the Congress party. Since S M Krishna was sidelined, he had expressed his pain during a press conference. Because of his age, he has been sidelined by the party. Janata Dal is Ruling the State, not the Congress. Some people say that it is a Kuruba government but I don’t agree with that statement because it is not right to insult any community”.

Poojary further said, “I have seen the pain on Krishna’s face, but my opinion is that by quitting the congress party S M Krishna made a mistake. It is not right to leave the party and go. I have been targetted in the party but I never quit the party. We could have fought together since I too have been fighting against the Siddaramaiah government. CM Siddaramaiah’s pride and ego has greatly increased, he is bad to the party. Until Siddaramaiah is out of the party, the Congress party will not prosper. When Siddaramaiah has done good work I have appreciated it and when he has committed mistakes I have tried to correct him. I request all the party members not to quit the party. Senior congress leader Zaffer Sherrif, Hukkeri and all the congress leaders should not leave the party, we should all join hands to fight against Siddaramaiah and put an end to his ego.”

When S M Krishna met Sonia Gandhi, she advised him not to leave the party and said time will set everything right. But S M Krishna was in a hurry to quit and without listening to Sonia Gandhi he quit the party. His decision has hurt Sonia, there was an opportunity for S M Krishna to change his mind. I urge Krishna not to join any other party because the Nehru family does not play dirty politics. I think, if S M Krishna goes back to Sonia Gandhi and accepts his mistake, she will take him back to the party. Krishna will be an asset for the opposition, but there is a danger of finishing his political future. The opposition is ready to accept the congress leaders to their fold and finish their political career.

When journalists asked questions Poojary refused to answer saying that those questions have been answered before.

Senior congress leader Vijay Kumar Shetty, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Arun Coelho and others were also present.

Please ask these veteran (above the age of 60) leaders to retire from politics gracefully and pave way to the new generation leader by support them, sharing experience and guiding). These leaders already enjoyed the power and benefits the Congress provided during its helm, these leaders became someone from no one because of Congress Party. Learn from Advnaji, even though the party sidelined him but he never uttered a single word against BJP leadership and kept silent. SM Krishna is greedy and over ambitious politician to resign is this age. He still need power. I had respect for him but… Read more »
