JINNECHI VATT a Book on Value Education Published in Three Scripts
Panaji: Jinnechi Vatt, a book on Value education, originally written in roman Script Konkani by the Carmelite Friar John Malvino Alfonso and published by the Carmelite Monastery Margao in 2009 and released at the hands of Fr. Archibald Gonsalves, then Provincial of the Karnataka-Goa Province of the Carmelites, has been transliterated in Devanagari and Kannada script.
Goa Konkani Academy has published the book in Devanagari script transliterated by Well known Konkani writer Vincy Quadros this year. Fr. Valerian Fernandes, then Parish Priest of Sastan-Udupi and presently the editor of Raknno weekly of the diocese of Mangalore transliterated in Kannada script in the year 2011 and released at the hands of Fr. Pius James D’Souza, former Superior of the St. Joseph Monastery, Mangalore at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Mangalore. Editor of GULAB, a Konkani Monthly, Fausto V. DaCosta has written a foreword to this book.
Jinnechi Vatt was the second book of the author who writes in Roman and Devanagari Script. He has to his credit five books, of which four are on Value Education and one on spirituality. Jinnechi Vatt in roman Script bagged awards from the leading Konkani Institutions like Goa Konkani Academy, Thomas Stephen Konkani Kendr and Konkani Bhasha Mandal-Goa in the year 2010.
Br. John Malvino hails from Loliem, Canacona and is a member of the Karnataka-Goa Province of the Order of the Discalced Carmelite based at the Carmelite Monastery Margao.
