Johnson touches on conflict among ‘Fast and Furious’ co-stars
Los Angeles, Aug 11 (IANS) Actor Dwayne Johnson posted a dramatic video featuring him with his “Fast and Furious” family on set, just hours after actor Vin Diesel was said to have “stormed off” from the shoot location.
Johnson was front and centre for the dramatic video that he shared on his Instagram page, where he was joined by scores of his fellow actors in a prison fight scene, reports mirror.co.uk.
“My final week of shooting ‘Fast and Furious’. There’s no greatness ever achieved alone. It’s always a team effort. We promised an epic prison break-out for you guys and we delivered,” he captioned the video.
He also added: “You guys reading this know how much I believe in the idea of team effort. That means respecting every person, their time and their value when they step on to my set or partner with our production company.”
“And like with any team — that’s a family — there’s going to be conflict. Family is going to have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it.”
In the short video, none of The Rock’s main male co-stars like Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Scott Eastwood or Kurt Russell could be seen.
It was earlier reported that there wasn’t a “great resolution” after Diesel and The Rock reportedly spoke on Tuesday.
Less than 48 hours after The Rock’s rant about some of his male co-stars on the new “Fast 8” movie, Diesel has reportedly wrapped his last scene and left the set.
The 49-year-old, who has been tied into the hit Fast and Furious franchise since its inception, allegedly stormed off set shortly after filming his final scene.
Following The Rock’s rant, it has been claimed it was aimed at Diesel and the two stars have now held a meeting to settle their differences.
The wrestling champion has angered his castmates by saying aside from working with Charlize Theron, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez and a great backroom staff, the experience he’s had making the movie genuinely makes his “blood boil”.
Johnson wrote on Facebook: “This is my final week of shooting ‘Fast & Furious 8’. There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one.
“An incredible hard working crew. Universal Studios Entertainment has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love them. My male co-stars however are a different story.
“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway.”
