Journalist Gokuldas Pai, Social Activist Joseph Rebello among 28 persons chosen for Dist Rajyotsava Award
Udupi: As many as 28 individuals and four organisations have been chosen for the district-level Rajyotsava awards in Udupi district for their contributions in different fields.
The list of the award winners was released by the district administration on Thursday. The winners will be felicitated by the district minister in-charge Dr Jayamala during a programme at the DC office Vajapeyee Auditorium, Maniapl on Friday, November 30.
The awards, which are usually given away on November 1 were delayed this year due to the by-polls in five constituencies in the state in the first week of November.
According to a press release here on Tuesday, the individuals who have been chosen for the awards are: Gopa Acharya, Gopal Ganiga, Raghavendra Acharya, M H Prasad Kumar Mogebettu (Yakshagana), Dr K Narendra Pai (Agricultrue), M Ismail Saheb (Education), Ramadas Palan, Manohar Shetty, Taranatha Meastha Shiroor, Joseph GM Rebello (Social Service), Barkur Hrishikesh Bairy, N Balakrishna Vaidya (Religious), Parameshwar Bhat, R Shreeshadas, Vidooshi Praveena Ashok (Singing), Sheena Panara (Folk Arts), Jayaram Neelavar, R J Kajol, Slagha Saligrama (Theater), Akshatha Poojary, Mranalini Sachin Shetty, Gururaj Poojary (Sports), T S Hussain (Poetry) Lawrence Pinto (Arts) Gokuldas Pai (Media) and Shekar Ajekar.
The Four organisations are: Samraddhi Mahila Mandali Cherkadi, Jaladurga Mahila Mandala Keelanje, Yuvaka Mandalal Sanoor and Hubhashika Koraga Yuva Kala Vedike.
