Journalist John D’Souza, Dr Sunitha Shetty among 30 to get Rajyotsava award

Udupi: The Udupi district administration has selected 30 personalities from different fields for the Udupi Zilla Rajyotsava award this year.

They have been selected for the award for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields. Apart from 28 individuals, an organization and a Bhajana Mandali too have been selected for the award.

According to the official press release, the awardees in the individual category include Gururaj Sanil (Social Service), Sathish Salian (Social Service), Rathnakar Samanth (Social Service), B Mohanchandra (Social Service), M Sanjeevanna (Yoga), Tallur Shivaram Shetty (Social Service), Dr Sunitha Shetty (Social Service), Jayakar Shetty Indrali (Social Service), L M Ibrahim (Social Service), Rathnakar Kini (Literature), Madhavi Bhandari (Literature), John D’Souza (Media), Udaykumar (Sports), Nithyananda Kemmannu (Sports), Ravikumar Kadekar (Theatre), Raju B Tonse (Theatre), Ramananda Nayak (Theatre), Yogesh Shiroor (Theatre), Shridhar Nayak (Music), Uday Sherigar (Music), Vishnumoorthy Basri (Yakshagana), Koorady Nagaraja Acharya (Art), Chikku Poojary (Yakshagana), Raghavendra Nayak (Agricultru), B Devaraj and B C Rao Shivapura (Religious).

Brahmavar Sports club has been selected for their outstanding contribution in sports. Vishnu Bhajana Mandali is the organization selected under music category.
