K S Bharath Kumar Appointed District Judge
Madikeri: K S Bharath Kumar, the elder son of K B Shantappa and Ratnamma couple of Virajpet in the district, has been appointed a district judge by direct recruitment.
Written examinations had been held for the 17 posts by the state high court. Out of the 1,200 advocates who appeared for the examinations, only 5 have passed and qualified for viva voce.
Bharath Kumar has been serving as an advocate in the state high court for ten years. He has lent his services as the senior counsel of the Union government, as legal adviser to Cauvery Neeravari Nigama and Visvesvaraya Technological University and has represented many state government undertakings as their advocate in the high court
He had his primary education at Good Shepherd School in Ammatti and high school and PU education in Alike in Dakshina Kannada.
He studied Law at the National Law School University and bagged a gold medal.
Having been recruited direct as the district judge, he is qualified to be raised to the high court bench in a few years.
His brother Sharath Coorg studied at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad and secured 5th rank. He had declined a highly lucrative job offer from an MNC.
