Kalasa-Banduri leaders chastise Vatal Nagaraj for yet another bundh call
Hubballi: The Kalasa-Banduri Horata Samanvaya Samiti leaders took pro-Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj to task by questioning him, who he is taking into confidence before calling for a Karnataka bundh on January 25.
The Kalasa-Banduri Samiti members gate crashed Vatal Nagaraj’s press conference, in Hubballi on Sunday, precipitating a showdown between them and pro-Kannada activists.
The Samiti argued that calling for bundhs frequently disrupts normal life of the people of the state and they will not support the January 25 bundh.
“We observed a bundh when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bengaluru and on many other occasions. All those bundhs were useless. More bundhs are unnecessary,” one Samiti leader pointed out.
However, Vatal Nagaraj and few pro-Kannada organisations he heads, declared that the Horata Samiti’s decision not to support the January 25 bundh, would not deter them from observing a bundh on that day and walked out of the press meet in a huff.
