Kallachu Award 2020 Conferred on Madhav Rao, 20 Achievers Felicitated
Mangaluru: An award ceremony was held to mark the 20th anniversary of Kallachu Publications at Hotel Woodlands here on October 17.
The programme began with an invocation. The head of Kallachu Publications, Mahesh R Nayak, welcomed the gathering and said. ” I can’t believe that the Publications has completed 20 years. When we had completed ten years, we initiated programmes to honour the achievers. This is the 11th year of the Kallachu Award ceremony. We are happy to confer the award to G K Madhav this year. For the past 11 years, Dharmadharshi Harikrishna Punarooru has participated in our award ceremony, and we are proud to be associated with him”.
The “Kallachu Publication Award 2020”, was conferred on the senior artiste and Banker G K Madhav Rao for his contribution in the field of arts by Harikrishna Punarooru with garland, fruits, citations, and the Mysuru Peta.
Addressing the gathering, Harikrishna Punarooru said, “Kallachu Publications has been encouraging people by identifying their talents and contributions. Kallachu Mahesh is working for the betterment of society. I congratulate Kallachu Mahesh for completing 20 glorious years and also for identifying and honouring the achievers.”
Twenty achievers in various fields were felicitated on the occasion. They are Vidhushi Bhramari Shivaprakash, Harish Sulaya Odambettu, Arun G Shet, Benet G Ammanna, Reshma Bhat, Shashiraj Kavoor, Gunavathi Kinya, Joseph G Pereira, P V Pradeep Kumar, Arun Ullal, Santhosh Andrade, Stany Bela, U Prakash Shenoy, Mohammad Saleem Malar, Deevith S K Peradi, Felcy Lobo, Vishvanath Kulal, Honnayya Katipalla, Malathi Shetty Malooru, and Smitha Shenoy.
President of the Lions Club, K Ram Mugrodi, and Madhav Rao also spoke on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Madhav Rao said, “Art is an ocean, and I am just a drop in the ocean. Today Kallachu has recognized and conferred me with the Kallachu Publication Award 2020. Literature and Art are the two faces of a coin. In this digital world, everything is available on the computers. Most of the people use computers to send greetings and messages, but for the past 37 years, I have sent greetings which I had drawn to my friends and relatives, such Art will strengthen the bond between us. I thank Kallachu Mahesh for choosing me for this award.”
Smitha Shenoy delivered the felicitation speech. Publisher of Kallachu Publication Mahesh Nayak delivered the vote of thanks. Subraya Bhat compered the programme.
