Kallega Tigers Team Leader Akshay Hacked to Death in Puttur
Puttur: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old youth was hacked to death at Nehru Nagar on November 6 late at night.
The deceased has been identified as Akshay Kallega (26) from Puttur.
According to the sources, Akshay Kallega led the “Kallega Tigers” team for the past 6 years. On November 6 night, for a trivial reason, there was a verbal altercation between Akshay and the members of the gang who committed the crime.
Later, the gang asked Akshay to come to Nehru Nagar for a discussion. While Akshay was on his way to Nehru Nagar, assailants attacked Akshay with machetes near the Canara Bank Kiosk. The accused also chased Akshay and hacked him to death.
Puttur Police reached the spot for further investigation.
After the horrific crime, the accused Manish Bannur and Chethu surrendered to the Puttur police while another accused is absconding.
