Chennai, Sep 11 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, in association with the All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC), has announced a three-day film workshop in November for over 10,000 people working in the industry.
The venue for the workshop is yet to be finalised.
According to an official statement, G. Shiva, president of AIFEC in collaboration with Kamal, chairman of Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), will bring together 35 film unions under one roof via the workshop.
“This workshop will help in conducting Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for people employed in the film industry. This initiative will involve training which would be conducted by national and international film dignitaries, technicians, specialists in 16 job roles,” read the statement.
The film union has unanimously announced a three-day work holiday for this skill development programme during the second week of November, making it a workers driven initiative.
