Kane to miss Manchester United clash in EPL
London, Oct 27 (IANS) Tottenham Hotspur’s star forward Harry Kane is set to miss the Manchester United clash in the English Premier League (EPL) on Saturday due to a ‘minor injury’, club coach Mauricio Pochettino confirmed on Friday.
“For tomorrow, we cannot take a risk. It’s a minor injury, very small, but we cannot take a risk. We’ll see after for Wednesday against Real Madrid. Tomorrow, it’s impossible,” Pochettino was quoted as saying by EspnFc during a pre-match conference.
The Argentine believes the injury is a big blow for the side and he wanted all his players to be available for the important clash.
“Yes, you always want all the players available. It’s a problem. We want them available to play,” the 45-year-old said.
“We always believe in the collective, the squad. During the season, problems happen and you must trust all the players, all the squad. I told the players they are not machines and its so difficult to cope with international duty, play every three days. It’s lucky it’s not a big problem but he’s not going to play tomorrow,” Pochettino added.
Tottenham and Manchester United share 20 equal points to sit third and second respectively in the EPL table separated by goal difference.
Want to win EPL with United, says Ibrahimovic
Manchester, Oct 27 (IANS) Swedish international forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Friday revealed he re-signed for Manchester United to win the English Premier League (EPL) title with the club.
The 36-year-old who was ruled out of the previous season due to knee injury, re-signed for the club this year after his one-year contract came to an end.
“The target is the English Premier League. That is my target to finish. Everything I started in the first season, we will finish in the second one,” Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by the Independent.
The forward who scored 28 goals in 46 games last season said he was not satisfied with the way his season ended last year.
“I said I have come back to finish what I started,” the Swede said.
“Everything I built up in the first season — obviously we won the three trophies — the ending for me was not the ending I wanted, or nobody wanted, especially after how the season went,” Ibrahimovic added.
