Kankanady Police Arrest Three while Transporting Rs 1 Crore Illegally

Mangaluru: Three persons have been arrested while illegally transporting a huge amount of money by car without any documents by the Kankanady Town Police here on December 8.

The arrested have been identified as Tanaji (54) from Maharastra, Dinesh Prakash Sindhe (20) from Belagavi and Amul Mali (29) from Sangli Maharastra.

According to the police, during the early hours of December 8 while the Kankanady Town Police Inspector Ravi Naik and team were on night rounds they got suspicious of a car bearing registration number MH 10 CA 9908 Hyundai I 20 and stopped it. While inspecting the car they found Rs 1 crore cash in it. When the Police asked for documents for the amount in the car the occupants failed to provide any documents.

The Kankanady police arrested all the three and seized Rs 1 crore from their possession. The police have also seized mobile phones and the car from the accused.

A case has been registered under section 454/17, 41 (1) (D), 102 CRPC.

Under the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh and the  able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth, the operation was carried out by the Kankanady Town Police Inspector Ravi Naik, Pradeep, Janaki, Dayanand, Vinod, Nutan Kumar, Ravindranath Rai, Madan, Santhosh, Raghuveer and Sandeep.
