Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai – Concludes Third Session with Tanveer Seith’s encouragement
UAE: The KPSD- Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai held the valedictory ceremony of their third year of Kannada classes at JSS Private School, Dubai on 20th May 2017. It had been their third year conducting classes where students yearning to learn their mother tongue-Kannada assembled at JSS Private School every Friday morning at 10:30 am to sharpen their Kannada speaking, reading, writing and grammar skills.
The guests who graced the occasion were Tanveer Seth, the Education Minister of Karnataka joined by Sabrina Seth who applauded the initiative and promised their support in future endeavors, Deepa Jain, Consul for Chancery & culture and protocol, Consulate of India Dubai touched the hearts of the gathering by starting her speech in Kannada, she further assured all the support from the consulate. Praveen Kumar Shetty, President Karnataka NRI forum UAE praised the organizers and appreciated their effort, Roger Narayan, Hollywood and Sandalwood Actor was very cheerful and made the crowd think again when he said his schooling was with Kannada medium school and he is now doing a voiceover to English documentaries. U T Iftikar Ali, Senate member, Rajiv Gandhi university of health sciences Bangalore graced the occasion.
The president of Kannada Mitraru and convener of Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai, Shashidhar Nagarajappa, welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction about the school, the highlights were that this is a Free school open to all children willing to learn Kannada, the concept of Free school was realized by the support to JSS education institutions in Dubai by providing the space and ten teachers working for seven months without pay to serve the community, they are, “Shilpa Siddalingesh, Manasa Vinay, Meera Vineeth, Kavya Yuvaraj, Shwetha Vinay, Kamakshi Suresh, Premalatha Lohit, Mamatha Kotian and Roopa Shashidhar.
Other dignitaries present were Veerendra Babu – president Kannadigaru Dubai; Prabhakar Ambalatere – General secretary- KNRIF; Sugandhraj Bekal, President Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah. The students were felicitated by the Chief Guests with certificates and medals, Arts and crafts team trained by Manatha Kotian were honoured on stage with first and second prizes ably judged by Susmitha Dhruva.
The cultural programme performed by the students of KPSD was splendid and transported the audience to their homeland. Jashmitha Vivek trained the students in dance. All the parents, guests and the well-wishers appreciated the effort of Kannada Mithraru, UAE. Parents now look forward to the fourth cycle expected to start this November 2017.
Premalatha, Satish Hegde and Nagaraj Rao compered the event, Jeetendra, Vijaykumar, Harish Kodi, Sunil Gavaskar, Siddalingesh, Govind Bhat, Venkataramana Kamath, Vinay, Putta Raju, SS Meti, Sudhir Bhandari coordinated the whole event, Deepak Somashekara delivered the vote of thanks.
