Kannada TV anchor Chandan’s wife kills son, commits suicide
Within a week of Kannada TV host Chandan’s death in a car accident in Davanagere, his wife Veena, who was reportedly in depression, has killed their son Tushar by slitting his throat.
She also consumed acid in an attempt to commit suicide after committing the heinous act.
Veena (38) is in a critical condition. She is currently under observation in Nihmans hospital in Bengaluru.
The wife of the late TV host Chandan was in severe depression after the death of her husband who had met with a gruesome car accident last week.
Veena slit the throat of her son Tushar (13) as she was unable to come to terms with the death of her husband. After getting the news of Tushar’s death, the extended family decided to donate the eyes of the young deceased boy to a hospital.
Thereafter, the staff of the eye hospital Abhisheka Netralaya followed the protocol of the eye donation and collected Tushar’s eyes.
Chandan was a popular TV host who was loved for his style of anchoring.
The TV host was traveling from Bengaluru to Hubli when his car met with an accident on National Highway 4 near Hanagawadi Bridge.
The car collided with a lorry resulting in Chandan (34) and Santoshi’s (24) death on the spot while Ramu and Sunita were left severely injured.
