Karan Johar honoured to be first Indian filmmaker at Madame Tussauds

Mumbai, April 19 (IANS) Filmmaker Karan Johar says he feels honoured to be the first filmmaker from India to have a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds.

Karan on Thursday tweeted a photograph of himself, holding a briefcase in one hand and a wax imprint of his palm on the other hand. A copy of his biography “An Unsuitable Boy” is also seen kept in front of him.

“Honoured to be the first filmmaker from India at the prestigious Madame Tussauds. Thank you to the entire team in London who worked tirelessly… Will have further details about when and where soon! Madame Tussauds,” he captioned the image.

Details about the launch of his wax figure are still under wraps.

Currently, Karan has a slew of films in his kitty, including “Student Of The Year 2” and “Kalank”, which features a star ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Alia Bhatt.

‘Kalank’ shoot begins

Mumbai, April 19 (IANS) The shooting for filmmaker Karan Johar’s next production venture “Kalank” has begun.

Veteran actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene on Wednesday tweeted: “Just finished my shoot with Anil Kapoor and Indra Kumar on the sets of ‘Total Dhamaal’ and was phenomenal as usual. Now arrived at the sets of ‘Kalank’ with Karan Johar for the look test. The sets are breathtaking. Can’t wait for you to see both films!”

Actor Varun Dhawan, who is collaborating with Karan for the fourth time, shared a photograph of the filmmaker with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. They posed with the film’s clapboard.

“It begins. ‘Kalank’,” he captioned the image.

Actress Alia Bhatt, who ventured into Bollywood with Karan’s “Student Of The Year” in 2012 along with Varun, posted a photograph of Karan, Nadiadwala and Varun’s father David Dhawan.

“The men in red and black. Day 1 of ‘Kalank’ calls for a visit to set from the three most important people! What a way to begin the film!” she tweeted.
