Karkala: Panchaloha idols were stolen from Ananthanatha Swami Jain Basadi at Hadiyangadi, Shirlalu Village in Ajekaru, Karkala Taluk on February 20.
Thieves entered the Basadi by breaking open the lock on February 20 night and took away the idols.
The priest Shrikanth Indra who came to the Basadi on February 21 morning to perform puja was shocked to see the broken door. The police were immediately informed.
According to the police, a Panchaloha idol of Padmavathi Goddess, Adinathaswami idol, Bharathaswami Idol, Bahubaliswami Idol, Ananthaswami Idol and other gold ornaments were stolen. The value of the stolen idols is estimated to be worth around Rs 2 lakh.
A case has been registered in the Ajekaru police station.
