Explosives Seized in Raid on Stone Quarry in Karkala
Karkala: A team of police, led by Karkala ASP Krishnakant raided a stone quarry on March 20 and seized explosives which were stored in the quarry. The Police also arrested two persons in this regard and registered cases against seven persons.
The arrested have been identified as Baiju (36) resident of Mallapuram Kerala and Navaz (25) of Uppinangadi.
After getting information from reliable sources about the storage of illegal explosives at a quarry belonging to Ramakrishna Shetty at Yeralpadi, the police raided the quarry and seized 106 gelatin sticks, 37 explosive detonators, Eight trucks, two compressors, two Hitachis, Five gas Cylinders and Six Bikes which were illegally stored in the Quarry.
The Police have registered cases against the Quarry owner Ramakrishna Shetty, Baiju, Nawaz, Suresh, Pakresh, Junaid and Hafeez.
The Karkala Town Police are investigating the case.
