Karkala: Govt Committed to Ensuring Societal Justice Irrespective of Caste Creed and Religion – CM

Karkala: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah participated in the eighth day celebrations of Mahamsthakabhisheka ritual held for Lord Bahubali on January 28.

The programme began with a Nadageethe, M N Rajendra Kumar working president of Mahamsthakabhisheka welcomed the gathering.

Addressing the gathering Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the State government is committed ensuring societal justice irrespective of religion, caste and creed.

The State government assures self dignity with eradication of illiteracy. Stressing that all religious preaching upholds human dignity and equality, the CM said it is ridiculous to emphasise on separation of society. The harmonious culture is only possible through tolerance. The ideal of Lord Bahubali is relevant forever.

He also said that animal behavior is commonly seen among humans in these days. Asserting that Dharma is the way of life, the CM said the people who fight in the name of Dharma should realise that People should live Dharma, as the way they live their life. Dharma is totally different from the caste or religion. Dharma stresses on harmony and brotherhood. The nation with the history of saintlyhood and tolerance stands apart from all other nations across the globe.

Stating that Bhagvan Bahubali is the testimony of peace, tolerance, non violence and sacrifice, the CM said people should adopt these ideals as the way of life. He added achievements are possible through sacrifice.

On behalf Mahamsthakabhisheka Samithi, M N Rajendra Kumar was felicitated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Padma Vibhushan Award winner Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dr Mohan Alva with Shawl, Garland and silver memento.

State Energy minister D K Shivakuar, Co-operative minister Mahadev Prasad, Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, Dr Mohan Alva also spoke on the occasion.

Udupi district minister in-charge Vinay Kumar Sorake, DK district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai, Health minister U T Khadar, Sports and youth empowerment minister Abhaychandra Jain, MLA Moideen Bava, Gopal Poojary, MLA Ivan D’Souza, former MLA Gopal Bhandary, Karkala Municipal council president Rehamath Sheik and others were present.
