Karkala: Former Prime minister H D Deve Gowda need not teach me on atheism while he himself promotes superstitious beliefs alleged Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka.
He was speaking after receiving the guard of honour at the Swaraj Maidan during his visit to Karkala here on January 28.
“I am not an atheist. I believe in God but I do not promote superstitious practices like Deve Gowda does,” said Siddaramaiah, hitting hard on Deve Gowda. “Deve Gowda has no role to play in Congress to convince the high command to expel me. I have not accepted the resignation of Satish Jarakiholi, the Excise Minister, and will hold discussions with him on the issue.” He refused to comment on Arakavathi de-notification issue.
“Bahubali is the symbol of peace, sacrifice and non violence and the same should prevail all over the world,” he added. He will be participating in the Bahubali Mahamastabishekha and the annual feast of St Lawrence Church, Attur.
