Karkala: In spite of several cautions given in these columns, incidents of this kind keep happening again and again.
Maybe there should be more awareness spread in local languages. Leading banks can publish pamphlets and distribute them among their account-holders to ask them to take care about their PIN.
In yet another case, a man from here lost almost Rs 20,000 from his account. A case has been filed by Babu Saba Imam in the town police station in this regard.
He has stated that he holds a savings bank account with Syndicate Bank here and on May 5, he received a call from a person claiming to be a highly-placed official from the administrative office of the bank in Bengaluru.
He tricked Imam into revealing the PIN of his ATM card. In many separate withdrawals from his account, he has been defrauded of Rs 19,998 soon after he gave his PIN.
