Karkala: Mobile Phone Explosion Causes Fire in House
Karkala: A serious incident occurred in Karkala on Saturday when a mobile phone explosion sparked a massive fire at a residence, resulting in extensive damage to the property. The incident took place at the home of Kishore Kumar Shetty, located in Maruthappa Shetty Colony on the 11th Cross, Tellaar Road.
According to reports, the explosion happened while the mobile phone was left charging, leading to a fire that rapidly spread and engulfed the entire two-story house.
Fire department personnel arrived promptly and conducted an extensive firefighting operation that lasted approximately two and a half hours. Despite their efforts, the fire caused considerable destruction, damaging various items within the house, including electronics, furniture, windows, and even the mobile phone itself. Preliminary estimates suggest that the total loss amounts to around Rs 7 lakh.
Fortunately, Kishore Kumar Shetty managed to escape the ordeal with only minor injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
