Karnataka Assembly Elections Siddaramaiah vs Narendra Modi – Raj Babbar
Udupi: Congress MP and the Uttar Pradesh Congress President Raj Babbar said that the present Karnataka Assembly elections held in the state are definitely a fight between Siddaramaiah vs Narendra Modi.
Addressing the Congress rally at Hiriyadka on April 8, Raj Babbar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to divide the society on the bases of religion and caste, while Congress is the only party pushing for the development of all castes and religions. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Amit Shah, BJP national president and Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Babbar said that the leaders of the BJP are coming to the State often to spread their ideologies thereby using Hindutva as an election issue.
Promises made by PM Modi are different from the promises made by former PMs, as Modi speaks only to mislead people. The people of Karnataka will not believe such baseless allegations against a pro-people government that had introduced programmes like the Anna Bhagya, Krishi Bhagya, Ksheeradhare, among others, he said.
He added that people have realized the work done by the Modi government has brought nothing for the people except fooling them.
Lashing out at the NDA Govt over the price hike of all essential commodities, Babbar said that the present Government has not passed on the benefit of the fall in the prices of petrol and diesel in view of present rates at the international market. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has miserably failed in fulfilling promises made to the people of this country. He has only promoted the interests of the corporate houses instead of addressing the issues of the common people of the country.
Criticising the UP chief minister Yogi Adithyanath’s government, Babbar said that the UP CM is campaigning in Karnataka and saying that the law and order situation in Karnataka has fully collapsed. But as chief minister of UP, Yogi has failed to control the law and order situation in his own state, what moral right then has he to speak about Karnataka? He has failed to provide succour to the people of Uttar Pradesh, he said.
Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake also spoke on the occasion and asked the people to elect the Congress candidate in full majority in the Kaup Assembly constituency.
Former MLA U R Sabhapathi, Congress leaders M A Gafoor, ZP member Chandrika Kelkar, Mahabala Kundar, Harish Kini, Wilson Rodrigues and others were present.
Raj eerena Bappar yaavuye.
