Karnataka Bandh Evokes no Response in Udupi District, BJP holds Protest March
Udupi: The Karnataka bandh called over Karnataka government’s ‘failure’ to fulfill its poll promise of waiving the farmers loan within 24 hours of assuming office evoked a poor response in Udupi district on Monday, May 28.
The government, city and service buses belonging to the private sector including the Udupi-Mangaluru-Kundapur bus service and the Udupi-Manipal private city bus service functioned normally.
Educational institutions, business establishments, banks and government offices also functioned as usual. Private transport services like autorickshaws and tempos were in operation.
The Bharathiya Janata Party held a symbolic protest march from Jodukatte to the Service Bus-stand.
