Karnataka Christian Educational Society (KACES) to celebrate Golden Jubilee

 Mangaluru: During the press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club, it was briefed to the media persons that The Karnataka Christian Educational Society (KACES) was founded in December, 1969. This society serves as an umbrella organization for the various educational and vocational training institutions for which Karnataka Theological College is the nucleus. At this time of celebration, we remember the contributions of the Basel Mission who arrived in India in 1834 and in the same year founded the Basel Evangelical Mission Seminary later named as Karnataka Theological College, since 1965.

Hebich Technical Training Institute rendered its service in the field technical education. Society established various institutions to nurture the community through its educational institutions viz., commerce and computer education, printing, stitchcraft, fashion designing and etc. KACES during the last 50 years served the Church and Society through its various Institutions. KACES, for the last fifty years, has not only followed the legacy of the Basel Mission but has also strived to build life affirming communities in the local context with a through it various inclusive educational and empowerment programmes.

We acknowledge the contributions by all our Secretaries, Presidents, Executive members and staff who through their constant support and hard work have contributed immensely to fulfill the vision and mission of KACES. At this juncture we remember the contributions of previous Secretaries Rt. Rev. C. D. Jathanna, Rt Rev. Dr. C. L. Furtado and Rt Rev. Dr. J. S. Sadananda who built the society through their dynamic leadership.

As we conclude the Golden Jubilee Celebrations on 10-2-2020, we end with thanks giving prayer at 5.00 pm at Bishop Jathanna Auditoriuma, Balmatta, Mangalore where Rt. Rev. Prasanna Kumar Samuel will deliver God’s message and other Bishops and previous Secretaries of the society will take part.

After Thanksgiving service there will be public reception, Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South will be the Chief Guest and Bishop Ravikumar Niranjan, CSI-KND, Bishop Mohan Manoraj,CSI-KSD, Bishop Dr. C. L. Furtado, Bishop Dr. J. S. Sadananda will be the guests of hounour. Rev. Dr. H. R. Cabral, Secretary KACES will be preside over the program.

During the Public Reception program publication on “Christian Education” will be released. Various institutions of the Society will present cultural programs at the end.
