Karnataka Indian Coast Guard Crew Rescues a Missing Fisherman

Mangaluru : In a statement sent by Commander S S Dasila of Karnataka Indian Coast Guard- Panambur-Mangaluru stated – “A distress message was received from the Office of SP CSP Malpe, Udupi todaY, 23 Oct 2019 regarding missing of one fisherman named Goraya Rao, aged 33 years from FB Shaional Angel with Reg No IND KA/01/3820. The Fishing Boat had left from Mangalore Port for fishing early morning today 23 Oct 2019.

Indian Coast Guard Ship Savitribai Phule on deployment off Karnataka coast for exercise SAJAG was alerted and swiftly recovered the missing fisherman at about 1600 hrs off 10 NM from Malpe Light House. On recovery the fully exhausted fisherman was provided food and first-aid. The fisherman belongs to Orissa state.

The coast guard crew brought the fisherman overboard at about 0300 hrs on 23 Oct 2019. The condition of fisherman is reported to be stable. The fisherman is being brought to NMPT and will be handed over to CSP”.
