Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi Holds 15th Vishwa Kannada Sanskriti Sammelana

Abu Dhabi: The 15th Vishwa Kannada Sanskriti Sammelana was held in Abu Dhabi on February 22 and 23. The event organised by Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha and Hridayavahini was presided over by Kannada Pustak Pradhikar President Dr Vasundara Bhupathi.

Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha President Sarvotham Shetty who took up to organising the event chalked out the plan of the event and ensured that the event was held in a smooth manner.

NMC group president and proud son of Karnataka Dr BR Shetty was present during the two-day event and wished the organisers all the best.

On the first day, the guests were all welcomed on the stage amidst traditional Tulunadu percussions, which was then followed by singing Indian National Anthem and UAE national anthem.

Dance performances by various troupes that came from Karnataka, Kikkeri Krishnamurthy’s musical extravaganza, mimicry by Gopi, folk dance by Kannadiga women from UAE enthralled all.

“Bhuddhana Nadu Bhutan” book was released during the event. The artwork and jewellery made by hearing impaired kids were kept on display by Swayam Seva Samsthan, Bengaluru.

The second day had a dance, music events too. MD Kaushik’s magic show mesmerized all.

Renowned actor Mukhyamantri Chandru spoke about ‘Kannadathana’ or being Kannadiga, in his talk.

Hani Kavana session by the Non-Resident Kanadaigas was held, which took the audience on a laugh riot.

Vishwavani daily news editor Vishweshwara Bhat spoke about challenges faces by the media today. This was followed by a quiz contest for the audience.

During the valedictory event, Vishwamanya award and Vishwa Kannada Sammelana Award were given away to achievers from various fields.

Video Jockey Avinash Kamath compered the event.

The Sammelana served a cultural and literary feast to the audience for two days.

Sarvotham Shetty, President Karnataka Sangha honoured each and every participant with memento and certificate.
