Karnataka Speaker UT Khader Meets Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to Discuss Hosting All India Conference of Presiding Officers

Karnataka Speaker UT Khader met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Delhi to express his desire to host the 85th All India Conference of Presiding Officers in Karnataka. The conference, held annually, will take place on September 23 and 24 at the new Parliament building in Delhi.

Khader discussed various reform measures implemented in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, including:

– Starting proceedings at 9:00 am instead of 11:00 am to allow for longer sessions
– Felicitating the first 23 members who assist in maintaining quorum to ensure timely functioning
– Providing breakfast and lunch for members in the corridors of the Legislative Assembly
– Utilizing Artificial Intelligence technology to track time spent by members during proceedings
– Displaying the Preamble of the Constitution in high-quality metal in the Legislative Assembly Hall
– Establishing a Constitution Club for MLAs, similar to the one in New Delhi

Khader’s efforts aim to enhance the functioning of the House and provide better facilities for members. The Karnataka Legislative Assembly’s new building in Bengaluru is set to be inaugurated on February 12, 2024.
