Kasaragod: Salman Faris and Abdul Basit, both aged 14, hailing from Bekal of Uduma taluk in the district, had been reprimanded by their parents for lagging behind in studies.
They together decided to run away from home. It appears that they caught a train and landed in Madgaon in Goa. They were found roaming aimlessly on platform no. 1 in the railway station there on Feb 28.
The railway police spotted them and they were found without any tickets. On enquiries, they admitted to having run away from home.
The police obtained their parents’ contact and asked them to come to Madgaon to take safe custody of the two boys.
The parents returned here after thanking the Konkan railway and police staff for their concern and care.
