Kaup Beach Opens for Scuba Diving
Udupi: The provision of scuba diving facility is expected to give a major boost to tourism in the district. The West Coast Adventures firm is providing the scuba diving facility.
To give a major boost to tourism in the Udupi district the district administration and the Department of Tourism launched the Scuba diving facility at the Kaup beach on Sunday, November 12.
Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake symbolically launched the Scuba diving facility at the Kaup beach and said that the government and the district administration have started a number of development projects in the Kaup Beach. To promote beach tourism. Today we have launched the Scuba diving facility at the Kaup beach and it will attract more tourists to Udupi district. We are also trying to start an airport in Padubidri, If we get the chance to start the airport more tourists will be visiting Udupi district, he added.
West Coast Adventures has been selected to delegate the activities in an islet located near Kaup Beach. West Coast Adventures will work as a team to guide the tourists in their activities. The Scuba diving activities will be available for 8 months from October to May.
The cost per person per 30-minute dive would be Rs 3,500. But this would be an inaugural offer. The rates would be later re-fixed. The facility will be available throughout the week. People will now be able to enjoy scuba diving in Kaup instead of going to Murudeshwar in Uttara Kannada district.
Kaup TMC president Soumya, ZP CEO Shivananda Kapasi, TMC chief officer Rayappa, ACT president Manohar Shetty, Yathish Baikampady, Tourism DD Anitha and others were present.
