Kaup Police raid illegal slaughterhouse, two arrested

Udupi: The Kaup police arrested two persons after a raid on an illegal slaughterhouse located near the Mooluru Sunni Center NH 66, on Wednesday, October 25.

The arrested are Abbu (60), and his son Ismail (38) residents of Mooluru.

Having received credible information that cows were being slaughtered illegally in the slaughterhouse, the Kaup police conducted a raid in the early hours of Wednesday. While the police managed to nab two persons, another person who was present at the spot managed to escape.

During the raid, the police seized 7 calves and a cow, Mahindra Pick-up and other items from the spot.

The raid was conducted by Kaup Police Station officials under the leadership of Kaup Police Inspector Nithyananda Gowda.

Kaup Police are investigating the case.

Heart breaking to see the images of young calves and cows grazing, having no idea of horror waiting for them inside the building. Truly disgusting to see what human beings are capable of doing to other living creatures.

By the way, the business of illegal cow trafficking, inhumane treatment of cows are reported on daily basis. Every person caught is from one community. Where are the ‘journalists’ who express fake-outrage over fire crackers causing animal anxiety?? Can we see some courage?
