Mangaluru: Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank, P Jayaram Bhat inaugurated ‘Udyanavan’ a park by unveiling the plaque in front of the office of Superintendent of Police here, on April 4.
After the inauguration, Bhat and SP Dr Sharanappa planted a sapling in the park. The park has been set up at a cost of Rs 5 lakh and sponsored by the Karnataka Bank (KB). While interacting with the mediapersons, Bhat said that for development of any state or district, cleanliness is very important. “KB is always at the forefront when it comes to corporate social responsibilities. We have provided financial backing for this park and we will also provide the finance required for the maintenance of this particular park,” Bhat said.
“The police department has provided support on several occasions and in the age of cyber threats, we need the backing of the police department”. He also said that the main aim of KB is to treat every customer as a family member and to protect customers from cyber frauds, special softwares with additional securities are up.
SP Dr Sharanappa said, “No officer stays in a region forever and has to be transferred to a different location. But the people of the region stay there and have to visit the officer of the region. It is therefore it is very important that the offices should be beautified and well maintained. Karnataka Bank agreed to take care of the expenses as soon as we approached them and they have also sponsored us traffic umbrellas and barricades. In private sector banks, KB is a well known name and the police department is always ready to support them in their people friendly schemes.”
