Kerala man Chained in Byndoor rescued by Police

Kundapur: A 50-year-old man from Kerala who was tied to a tree on National Highway 66, at Kirimanjeshwar near Byndoor was rescued by the police on Saturday, March 9.

The man has been identified as Sayed Koya (50), son of Kunni Koya, a resident of Kallachi, Kozhikode, Kerala State.

According to the police, on March 9, when a passerby was passing by in Kirimanjenshwar, he saw a man tied to a tree with a chain and informed the Byndoor Police Station. Byndoor PSI Thimmesh and his team rushed to the spot and tried to release the man but could not since the chain was locked. Later the police had to cut off the tree branch and take him to a nearby workshop to open the lock.

Speaking to Mangalorean.com PSI Thimmesh said, “When we received a call, we immediately went to the spot and rescued the man. During the investigation, we found that Sayed was mentally unstable. People have seen him in Byndoor area for the past three days. We suspect some people of the area might have tied him to the tree. We have provided Syed with food and clothes.
