Khader condemns attack on Tanveer Sait
Mangaluru: Strongly condemning the attack on MLA Tanveer Sait, Mangaluru MLA U T Khader said that the state government should initiate take action against the culprits.
At a press conference at Circuit House on Wednesday, he expressed his concern saying that if this is the fate of elected representatives, what about the common citizens. Khader also urged the government to conduct a thorough inquiry into the case.
Referring to the double murder in Puttur, the MLA said that the crimes are on the rise. “Stern steps are required to control such incidents,” he said.
Reacting to the provocative posters against Ayodhya verdict, he said that the department concerned should strictly act against such people who try to disrupt the peace.
Cases against those accused during mob clashes have been withdrawn by governments. Sometimes, cases are registered on a lot of people who are not directly involved in the clashes. Therefore such cases are withdrawn, he said.
To a query on bye-elections in the 15 assembly constituencies in the state, U T Khader said that people are keenly observing all the developments.
“I hope that the people will uphold democratic values”, he said adding that he has visited Shivajinagar and Hunsur to campaign for Congress party candidates.
