On October 8, minister U T Khader was in Vittal to attend a private function. After attending the function he was on his way back to Mangaluru. U T Khader decided to make a surprise visit to the Pump and check the measuring Units belonging to his own paternal Uncle U T Moosakunhi.

There was no information about the visit as Khader on his way back from Vittal decided to check at the petrol pump and asked his driver to take the car to Moosakunhi’s petrol pump. A 5 litre Can was filled with diesel to check the content. The Pump staff were shocked to see Minister Khader suspecting them of wrongdoing in the sale of diesel/petrol. After filling the Can, Khader checked the measuring unit which was found to be perfect. Khader appreciated integrity and transparency of the staff and the owner in their business.

Speaking to mangalorean.com U T Khader said, “Wherever there is transparency in business, people come in search of such outlets. We should be trustworthy to our customers when we do business. Petrol pump owners should ensure that the customers should get value for money. I have heard that many of the petrol pumps manipulate their petrol/diesel measuring units supplying less fuel for the money paid, I will carry out such surprise checks in the days to come”.

Later Minister Khader continued his journey towards Mangaluru.
