Khadi, Ethnic and Hobby Day held at St Joseph’s School CBSE-Bengaluru
Bengaluru: St. Joseph’s School CBSE, Bengaluru conducted assembly on the theme ‘Khadi, Ethnic and Hobby Day’, at the school campus on February 27, 2020, in the presence of Rev. Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, the Principal, Rev. Fr Balaraju SJ, the Vice Principal, Ms. Sherly Wilfred, the Academic Advisor. The assembly commenced with a prayer followed by a brief explanation of the Khadi Day and the significance of Ethnic and Hobby Day. As a part of the Khadi Day awareness, the students were dressed in Khadi clothes promoted the concept and use of clothes made of Khadi which acknowledged the Swadeshi movement started by Gandhi during the freedom movement.
This day also marked an occasion to showcase the varied cultural heritage of our country was depicted in the school assembly, where students from Grade 1-7 dressed in traditional attire representing the various states of our country. This was based on the Ethnic Day theme. This was followed by highlighting the importance of one’s hobby which was displayed by the students exhibiting the different hobbies. This presentation was done by keeping in mind that every child should harness their hidden talents and show their best hobbies of their choice. This would help students to take up hobbies like coin collection, stamp collection, Origami etc.
