KHB Assistant Revenue Officer Arrested while Accepting Bribe
Mangaluru: The assistant revenue officer of Karnataka Housing board was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau Sleuths while accepting bribe on September 28.
According to the ACB police, a resident of Bajpe had taken Rs 9,500 loan from the Karnataka Housing Board. After the repayment of the loan, he had gone to collect the documents and NOC from the KHB.
Assistant executive engineer Vijaya Bhaskar and Assistant Revenue Officer Srinivas demanded Rs 10,000 to return the documents.
On September 28, the complainant approached the Anti Corruption Bureau and informed about the officers demanding a bribe to return documents. The ACB officials informed the complainant to pay the amount to trap the officers. Accordingly, Srinivas was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. After receiving information about the raid by ACB, Asst Executive Engineer Vijay Bhaskar is absconding.
The ACB police have arrested Srinivas and seized the money from his possession. The ACB police are investigating the case.
