Los Angeles, April 17 (IANS) English-Canadian actress Kim Cattrall, who is best known for her starring role in the iconic series “Sex and the City”, has been open about the fact she’s going through the menopause and says it’s something other women needn’t feel embarrassed to talk about.
“I don’t think it’s any secret that I’ve been going through menopause for a while. I haven’t been hush-hush about it because I want to name what’s going on for women and I don’t want to hide behind something called ‘The Change’,” the 58-year-old actress told ITV’s show “Loose Women”, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Cattrall currently appears in the Canadian adaptation of British show “Sensitive Skin” as a woman going through a mid-life crisis.
She said it is important that women feel comfortable discussing the issue in public, and do not seek to “hide behind” euphemistic expressions because they feel awkward.
She said: “I don’t want to hide behind it. I think we need to name it, claim it (and) get over it.”
