Kiran Shetty and Mohammed Sheriff arrested under Goonda Act
Mangaluru: Police arrested two persons under the Goonda Act and sent one of them to Central Jail of Mysuru while the other was sent to Belagavi Central Jail here, on June 18.
The arrested are Kiran Shetty alias Bombay Kiran (27), a resident of Padu Marnadu and Mohammed Sheriff (45) from Thodaar.
Kiran Shetty has committed grievous crimes. Four serious cases have been filed against him – two cases of attempt to murder, one dacoity case and one extortion case. He was arrested and sent to Central Jail of Mysuru.
Mohammed Sheriff was involved in a murder case and three cases of attempt to murder. All the four cases being of grievous nature, Sheriff was arrested and sent to the Belagavi Central Jail.
Based on the report submitted by the DCP of Law and Order and Moodbidri police inspector, the police commissioner issued an order to arrest Kiran and Mohammed, and to be categorised under the Goonda Act.
