KMC Hospital Attavar certified for Highest excellence in Nursing standards
Mangaluru: Kasturba Medical College Hospital Attavar, has added yet another feather to its cap by obtaining the Nursing Excellence Certification from NABH for Nursing services. This certification is based on the international standards followed by the hospital in the areas of Nursing Resource Management, Nursing Care of Patient, Management of Medication, Education, Communication and Guidance, Infection Control Practices, Empowerment and Governance of Nursing Quality Indicators.
The Awarded Certificate was handed over by Dr H Vinod Bhat Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) to DR Anand Venugopal – Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospitals Mangaluru in the presence Dr Poornima Baliga – Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences), Dr Narayana Sabhahit- Registrar of MAHE and Rajen Padukone – the Group President of the Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anand Venugopal stated KMC Hospitals & Manipal group has always been a pioneer in top quality medical care, be it equipment or Competitive Doctors as well as highly trained personnel comparable with the world-class standards.
It is indeed a remarkable achievement for KMC Hospital Attavar, which just completed its Silver Jubilee year i.e. 25 successful years of providing clinical services in Mangaluru.
Nursing services are an integral part of the clinical services of any healthcare organization. The aim of nursing services is to provide comprehensive nursing care in terms of health promotion, prevention of diseases and therapeutic nursing care to the patients as well as to the community.

Certification in Nursing Excellence by The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) will help in regulating, guiding and promoting professional nursing practice. They will serve as guidelines to nurse, administrators and supervisors for supporting and facilitating safe, competent and ethical nursing practices within their Health Care Organizations.
