KMC Hospital Attavar inaugurates 3 Tesla Advanced MRI
Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan inaugurated the 3 Tesla advanced MRI at KMC Hospital, Attavar, on Friday, March 14. The facility has been set up by the Department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging.
Speaking on the occasion, Mullai Muhilan said, “It is in KMC’s DNA to have a sense of sharing with society at large. I urge everyone to contribute and work towards making Mangaluru the healthcare capital of the country.”
Pro-chancellor of MAHE, Dr H S Ballal, stated, “We have installed the 3 Tesla advanced MRI at Attavar to ensure that even the poorest can afford advanced diagnostic facilities. The real value of new advancements lies in making them accessible to the underprivileged at an affordable cost. This facility will greatly benefit the general public. Additionally, we chose Attavar for the installation as we are launching a postgraduate programme in diagnostics, allowing students to gain exposure to state-of-the-art facilities.”
MAHE vice-chancellor, Lt Gen Dr M D Venkatesh, expressed pride in installing the latest, highly advanced 3 Tesla MRI, stating, “It will significantly enhance diagnostic accuracy across various disciplines, benefiting students, faculty, and patients alike. Over the past two years, the department of radio diagnosis has undergone significant transformation, implementing numerous advancements to become a future-ready department.”
Also present at the event were MAHE Mangaluru pro-vice-chancellor Dr. Dilip Naik, CEO of MAHE Teaching Hospitals Dr. Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent Dr. Chakrapani, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Deepak Madi, and other dignitaries.
Dean of KMC Mangaluru, Dr. B Unnikrishnan, welcomed the gathering, while head of the department of radio diagnosis and imaging, Dr. Santhosh Rai, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Param Kukreja and Dr. Vinay Poornima compered the event.
