KMC Hospital Holds Nurses Hostel Day at Lalbagh
Mangaluru: The Nurses Hostel day was celebrated at the KMC Hostel premises, Lalbagh here on March 10.
The programme began with an invocation. The programme was inaugurated by the proprietor and editor-in-chief of mangalorean.com Violet Pereira by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering Violet Pereira said, “Nursing is a noble profession and you are lucky to be associated with KMC Hospital. Doctors will visit the patients for a short while and leave but you take care of the patients for 8 hours everyday which sometimes leads to stress. Today, the management has taken a unique step to lift your spirit by organizing the Hostel day. Today you should forget everything and enjoy the evening.”
Violet Pereira further said, “KMC is my second home since I very often visit the hospital. The nurses, doctors, treatment here including the management is very good. Many of you stay in the hostel. Yes, parents send you to pursue your education and sometimes you need to stay in the hostel to continue your education or work. Hostels are places where you learn a lot and mix with others from different states and faiths.”
Medical Superintendent Dr Anand Venugopal, Nursing Superintendent Gracy Lobo, H R Manager Premalatha, Raviraj, Rakesh Darshan and others were also present.
Various cultural programme were presented by the Nurses. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various games.
KMC Nurses Prasanna and Anusha compered the programme and Vijayalaxmi delivered the vote of thanks.
