KMC Hospital Unveils FIRST of its Kind ‘Comprehensive Knee & Hip Care” centre, to offer enhanced joint care services- A leading edge treatment centre
Mangaluru : With an aim to offer an all-encompassing and comprehensive service for preservation and replacement of joints, KMC Hospital launched FIRST of its kind Knee & Hip are centre at KMC Hospital, Dr B R Ambedkar Circle, Mangaluru. .Even though the Centre was inaugurated on last Friday by Prof. Mats Brittberg from Gothenburg, Sweden, who is the originator of cartilage regeneration and has been president of the International Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation Society (ICRS); Prof. Seuk- Jung Kim from Seoul, South Korea and Prof. A. Ananthram Shetty from Canterbury, UK ; both developers of cell therapies with numerous applications and patents, but a Press Meet was arranged today, Wednesday, 18 December 2019, to brief about the Centre and its benefits.
By launching this Centre, KMC Hospital, at Jyothi Circle is the first in India to have a focused centre where latest technology is amalgamated with specialist clinical skills that help personalize treatments to best suit a particular patient’s needs. By providing comprehensive care for the knee & hip joints under one roof, the doctors treat the whole range of problems equally passionately with certified state of the art treatment. Whether it is new techniques of exercise- based approach, injections like platelet- rich plasma, minimally invasive Arthroscopy as a walk- in walk- out day procedure or simple and complex Joint Replacement surgery, their outcomes for each respective treatment would be at par with the best available in the world. Also for the Hyaluronic Acid injection used in treating certain patients which used to cost five times more earlier, is now only Rs 2000, which is manufactured by Pharmaceutical companies in India. Overall, treatment charges could range between Rs 1.5- 2 lakhs, depending on the treatment. We can’t compromise cost for quality. Other hospitals could charge 15% less than us, but we look into quality and perfection. But no matter what, treatment at this centre will be very very AFFORDABLE”.
