Kodavoor Govt School Headmaster Suspended for Violating EC Code
Udupi: The District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district – Hephsiba Rani Korlapati suspended a primary school headmaster on Friday, April 12 for violating the EC’s Model Code of Conduct.
The suspended teacher has been identified as Dalit leader Sundar . He was serving as the Head Master of the Govt. Higher Primary School in Kodavoor.
According to sources, Sundar had participated in Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s election campaign program held in Karkala, on April 7. He had gone to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister as a leader of the Dalit association.
As per the Election Commission of India, no government official shall participate in any political party campaigns.
The concerned Enquiry Officer has reported that the said teacher, despite being a Govt. employee, had attended the campaign function of the Chief Minister. Acting on the Enquriy Officer’s report, DEO Hephsiba Rani Korlapati suspended Sundar with immediate effect.
