Konkan Cup 2020, witnessed a true tribute to Konkan Cricketer Alex Lewis
Bengaluru: Konkan Sports Club, Bengaluru organized Konkan Cup 2020, 6 a-side 40 yards over arm cricket tournament on February 9, 2020, at DNI Sports Ground, Bengaluru as a tribute to Alex Lewis. 10 teams participated from different parts of Bangalore participated in this tournament.
During this tournament, a short condolence meeting was held. Friends from the cricket circle and family of Alex were present. Joyson Fernandes led the condolence prayer meet.
Charles Gomes, President of Kanara Entrepreneurs and past chairman Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) and Gerald Pinto, Ex-president of St. Anne’s Konkan Kutam (SAKK) shared the memories that they had with Alex and his passion for cricket was applauded. Seema Lewis extended her gratitude to all those who stood with her during the difficult time of her life. Silvian Noronha, Chairman of FKCA visited the venue and showed his support towards the tournament.
Different teams such as Stars of Jayanagar, Neermarga Challengers, Team BKCS , Team FKCA, Team DNI, Sezarche Chede, Sezarche Rede, Charbelle Chede, KCS, Yashwanthpur , Team HCC, Hegdenagar took active participation in the tournament.
